There are four dwellings in all. The owners live in one of the houses and let out the remaining three. All have been renovated and refurbished to a very high standard with features such as underfloor heating, and equipped with state-of-the-art fridges, freezers, washing machines and even Bose stereo. The three gites have a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and two other bedrooms (usually a double and a twin) with access to a large family bathroom. The owner’s house is similar, comprising a vast living/dining area with a spacious open kitchen on the first floor and four bedrooms (one ensuite) and a family bathroom ‘downstairs’. But as the houses are built on a slope both floors have independent access and can be considered as ‘ground floor’.

Each gite (and the main house) has its own private terrace. Guests can choose between a multitude of activities without even leaving the estate: lounging by the 15 metre pool, playing tennis or trying their hand at petanque (boules). Kids adore exploring the forest or showing off on the zip line. Quieter types will be fishing in the well-stocked lake. For more adventurous guests (or owners) there are numerous sites to visit in the immediate area: the UNESCO Heritage site of Albi, the wine region of Gaillac, the Garlic fields of Lautrec and the local town of Castres to name but four.

Our opinion

In our description of this property we have concentrated on the purely ‘lifestyle’ elements of the estate and its location. But there is also the commercial aspect to be taken into account. These high quality gites attract premium rental prices: each gite can be let for €2500 in the high season. The tendency today would be to let the whole estate – all four houses plus use of pool and facilities – to groups for upwards of €10k per week. The best solution is often to combine lifestyle and business – letting out the 3 holiday homes during the summer months and then welcoming groups for theme weekends throughout the off season. Whatever your project, this fine estate, sold fully furnished and equipped, is a must-see property that will not disappoint.
