The Abbey of St Sever-de-Rustan* dates back to the XIth century and is one of the architectural jewels of southern Gascony/northern Pyrenees. It includes gothic, classic and romanesque features as well as some rare sculptures.   Lying in the Arros valley with the Jazz capital of France, Marciac, a few kilometres to the north, and Tarbes, Lourdes and the High Pyrenees to the south, the village is an excellent location for tourists and lifestyle-changers alike.

Our opinion:

This is a turnkey business: there is no further work to be done and buyers can expect to begin trading on day 1. The gites are sold fully-equipped and furnished. The proximity of Marciac with its world-famous Jazz Festival to the north and the ski resorts/Tour de France passes to the south, ensure a steady flow of tourists throughout the year. Not to mention the Abbey. The gites are of a standard size: two bedrooms and plenty of space,  the easiest to let whatever the season. The heated pool helps enormously. Cycling holidays, yoga weekends, history seminars are only some of the ideas to ensure year-round occupancy. An excellent business in a charming location.
