This investment property consists of three top quality gites, each with its own private garden and pool, on 3500m² of land over-looking the mediæval bastide village of Domme, on the Dordogne river.

Domme is one of those special villages clinging to the rocky sides of the Dordogne river gorge. It attracts huge amounts of tourists who explore the village, the caves, the surrounding region and who enjoy water sports in the river itself. Demand for accommodation is high but planning laws make it almost impossible to build or even to modify existing buildings. Everyone has to submit to the stringent rules laid down and enforced by the ‘Bâtiments de France’. This estate has been through all these hoops to emerge with a beautiful, discreet and lucrative business within 800m of the village in green and forested surroundings.
There are three gites, set in 3500m of gardens. Each gite has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen/lounge area. Outside there is a private terrace, garden space and a private 8 metre pool. And private parking for 2 cars at each house – parking is at a premium in the village.

This is a simple gite business sold as a going-concern. It’s essentially an investment project as there is no real living quarters for ‘lifestyle’ changers. One would have to live already in the region or to use one of the gites in the short term. Given the steady turnover figures and the low maintenance costs (essentially taxe foncière, water and electricity) we can only advise to keep the business running as it is. The return on investment is a lot more than you’d get from putting your money in the bank (and a lot safer than investing in the stock market).
